Chilli Sauce 2

This is a hot chilli sauce, we call it Ouch-ouch sauce in our house, eat with care!

Ingredients

  • 100 gm. chillies (medium heat) chopped with seeds

  • 3 large red peppers diced

  • 2 medium white onions, peeled and finely sliced

  • 2 clove of garlic chopped

  • 2 tbsp. tomato purée

  • 1 tbsp. sugar

  • 1 tsp. sea salt

  • 1 tsp. dried oregano

  • 1 tsp. black pepper

  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika

  • 1 cup (250 ml.) red wine vinegar

  • 1/2cup (125ml) hot water

  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and soften and brown the onions.

  2. Add the peppers and soften.

  3. Add the chillies and again mix in well.

  4. Add smoked paprika, black pepper, sea salt and oregano and mix in.

  5. Add the tomato purée, sugar, water and red wine vinegar, cook in for a few minutes stirring well.

  6. Use a stick blender to purée to smooth.

  7. Put in sterilised jars/containers (like you would doing jam jars), close lids. Allow to cool.

  8. Eat with kebabs, cheese and other sandwiches, with your fried breakfast, in fact anywhere you would like to use a hot sauce!
