Tuna & Mayonnaise Crunchy Sandwich

This is popular sandwich in England, very easy to make. It can also be served as jacket potato filling. Enough for 4-8 sandwiches, depending upon their size.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 tuna fish in water/brine tins (125 gm. when drained)

  • 2 small red onions, diced finely

  • 1 red pepper, diced finely

  • 1 small handful of fresh basil, finely chopped

  • 2-3 Sticks of celery, diced

  • 2 tsp. English mustard

  • 8-10 tbsp. Mayonnaise salad dressing

  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice

  • 1 tsp. ground black pepper

  • Salt to taste (a few pinches)

  • Slices of bread, brown/whole grain/white or any other type

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients, except bread, in a bowl. Adjust seasoning.

  2. Spread a thick layer on a slice of bread of your choice and cover with another slice !

  3. Optional

  4. Add finely diced chilli pepper/green chillies/Tabasco sauce.
