Green Papaya Salad 2
Harae Papita Salad
Neelam Gupta lives in Noida, India and is a great cook. If you have access to green papayas, this is a simple salad to make. Serves 4
250 gm. raw green papaya, peeled and coarsely grated
2 cloves of garlic, peeled and grated
2 green chillies, stalks removed and chopped finely (no need to de-seed)
1 tsp. sugar or honey
1 tsp. salt, adjust to taste
1/2 cup roast peanut, coarsely ground/broken up with rolling pin. If using ready salted peanuts, reduce amount of salt.
Juice of 1 lemon (approximately 2 tbsp.)
Peel and cut papaya in half, remove seeds with a spoon or a scoop.
Place everything in a bowl and mix.
