Hello Charu

You can steam vegetables either in a microwave steamer or in a plastic bag. In the steamer, you put 1/4 cup of water in the bottom tray, then beans in vegetable tray, then cover and cook for desired minutes. In plastic bag, place vegetables in the bag, add a couple of tablespoons of water, close the bag, leaving a tiny hole at the top end (so water doesn't leak out) and cook for the number of minutes you want. If you are going to use microwave regularly, it is worth while investing in a steamer. They are available on the internet. If you are in India, they are very easily available from any decent kitchen shop. I believe 'Cutting Edge' are quite a good brand, but you may find many other.

You can also boil the beans in the traditional way, just making sure that they do not become too soft.
