Sorry I've taken a while to reply.

I made the chutney 25th. September 2005 and I opened a jar last week (16th December 2005) and it's absolutely fine. I still have a few jars left and I'm sure they'll keep. I realised that the main thing was to put the chutney into warm sterilised jars whilst it was still boiling and fit the metal lids immediately. Just like making jam really.

Anyway I'm really pleased with the finished article.

If it wasn't for your fantastic site I probably wouldn't have bothered with this recipe and look what I'd have missed!! Thanks so much.
